dgotz's Willie Gunn got me interested and I've been looking for a Flamethrower to tie. Took a lot of liberties with the original, mostly due to lack of proper materials.
hook - Dai Riki 899 #6
thread - Danville 6/0 white
tag - oval tinsel gold
butt - mylar braid gold
rear hackle - yellow
wing - bucktail yellow, orange, black, Krystal Flash gold
body - Ice Dub golden brown
front hackle - hot orange, black
cheeks - sharptail grouse
head - Krystal Flash pearl

I'll always say this same thing when I see a hair wing synthetic something on this board. What makes this board special to me, is the focus on traditional patterns and artistry that is derived from that. In a world that offers one million and one boards that facilitate synthetics and tubes, this board is special because it doesn't.
We're desperate for content, but relevant content.

Something tells me steelhead will love this fly...and Atlantic salmon probably wouldn't be shy about grabbing it either. I like it.....
